Glow tutorial -photoshop- by kuro-mai Glow tutorial -photoshop- by kuro-mai
I always receive a lot of notes of people who wants to know how to do a glow/light effect. So I tried to do something step by step to show you how I do. This is my personal way to do, I'm sure there are a lot of different ways.

I took my previous drawing to show you cuz I was too lazy to make another one lol.
I hope my english isn't too bad, but if you understand, it's the most important.

I hope it will help a little ^^

I've always wanted to do a nice glow effect, but it never turned out to the way I wanted it to be due to my lack of Photoshop skills...
And, don't worry, your english is very clear :)
One thing with tutorials, one must always use the simplest form of language and you have definitely accomplished it!

I already opened it, but I'm used to CS3. The only thing I REALLY love in this version, it's just that I use a lot keyboard shortcuts; on CS3 you have to press the key you want to use it (for ex the pen is P, the eraser is E etc). now you can press the key you want to use just by keeping it pressed and then just release it to go back to your previous tool (like it work in Sai for ex). its freaking hard to explain in english lol sorry ^^" it's nothing much but for me it's a lot of time saved xD otherwise I didn't see a lot of different features from cs3. I know the complete version of CS5 gives some 3D functions but I don't have it in mine. ^^

Wow, that sounds handy (The pressing the botton thing) I neva heard Sai or photoshop do that.
Maybe I'll download Cs3, sounds like it could help me lots. And your English isn't bad. ^.^
Thanks for the info!! :glomp:

Mmm. i wanna correct something here..
you wrote "baka" with the wrong letter. Generally, 'baka' is written in hiragana. But the one u wrote is 'BA" in katakana n "KA" in hiragana. It may be written in katakana (Japanese's slang style)..but u used both of hiragana n katakana. if u're intended to write it in katakana, write the 'KA' without tenten.

BTW,FABOLOUS FANART AS ALWAYS, I LOVEEEE IT XDDDD

oh you're right O.o I didn't even noticed I wrote the "ka" in hiragana lol.. (and I read japanese everyday... xD)...
actually we can write onomatopoeia in Katakana when they are .. "strong" (I don't know how to explain correctly) but for exemple, the normal one for the silence is "しーん" and for an "heavy silence" it's "シーン" it have a strongest effect ^^ wa sorry for my english lol.
and thank you for your comment ^.^

"strong" > There's something like that? I didn't know x'D thax for telling me^^ I just know that katakana is used for "the sound of things" or for foreign language other than the original Japanese's language

hehe yes, actually it's the same thing for us, for exemple if someone says :
"no!" or "NO!" when it's in caps, the meaning is.. "stronger" ^^
